First Person Player

  • How might you design a game for first person view differently from 3rd person view (a 3D game where you can see your player character)?
A game with a third person view puts in a lot more work on the actual character build than a game with a first person view. Most first person games don't even have a character build. Those that do usually only show the hands and arms. But a game with a third person view must create the entire character and animations for every action that the player can take. In first person, all you have to animate is the character using their weapons and picking up objects. But in third person, you have to show the character walking, running, sneaking, rolling, jumping, riding in vehicles or on horses, along with all of the animations listed for first person and a host of other things depending upon what you want to put in your game.
